At the Centre for Research on the Environment, Energy and Waste, R&D teams from Veolia Energy and Veolia Environnement are conducting a number of research programs related to renewable energies, with the aim of optimizing their integration into currently available solutions.

Research focuses primarily on:

  • Optimizing and enhancing the reliability of biomass combustion systems, by testing different biomass mixes, including wood chips and forest residues, and by exploring biomass gasification for power generation.

  • Improving the performance of solar heating systems, through lab tests of concentrators and hybrid photovoltaic/thermal collectors.

  • Producing energy from oxygen and hydrogen with fuel cell technologies, including full-scale stationary demonstrators.
