Veolia Energy North America Receives Prestigious Honor at Ceremony in Boston
On April 15th, 2009, Veolia Energy North America was honored at the sold-out 8th Annual Business Awards dinner of the French-American Chamber of Commerce - New England (FACCNE) Chapter, held at the Langham Hotel in Boston.
The FACCNE selected Veolia for special recognition because of the significant investment in people and infrastructure that has been made in the New England region since the establishment of the Veolia business in the Boston area in 2005, and because of the company's commitment to reducing the carbon footprints and energy consumption of the communities served.
The event attracted a number of distinguished officials who guide energy and environment policy on both a regional and national level. Dignitaries on hand included:
- Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray;
- The Honorable Francois Gauthier, the Consul General of France in Boston;
- Commissioner Phil Giudice of the Massachusetts Division of Energy Resources, the event's keynote speaker;
- Michael Ross, the President of the Boston City Council;
- Paul Guzzi, President and CEO of the Boston Chamber of Commerce;
- Jim Hunt, Chief of Environment and Energy Services for the Office of the Mayor of Boston.
